Silvio Consadori (1909-1994) was a distinguished Italian artist. He was born in Brescia. Last year was the centenary of his birth. There was a special exhibition of his work in the Diocesan Museum of Art in Milan.

Amongst his many works are works of a religious nature:

1951 The Triumph of the Cross in the Sanctuary of St Rita in Cascia

1962 The altarpiece of St Martin of Porres in the Basilica delle Grazie in Milan

1963 Pope Paul VI commissioned him to paint two frescoes in the Chapel of the Swiss Guard as well as a stained glass ("The Resurrection") window for his private chapel

1971 Twelve frescoes for The Church of San Giuseppe al Trionfale in Rome: six in the Chapel of the Sacred Heart and another six for the Chapel of the Madonna

Two of his works are displayed in the Gallery of Modern Religious Art at the Vatican

He collaborated with Don Pasquale Macchi, the secretary to Pope Paul VI, on a number of works. The last two of the above works were in the possession of Don Macchi
