Bartolomé Bermejo, also known as Bartolomé de Cárdenas (Córdoba, c.1440 – Barcelona, c. 1498).
Bartolomé Bermejo is one of the most important Spanish Gothic artists.
He was influenced by the Flemish and Netherlandish School and in particular by Roger van der Weyden, Jan van Eyck and Dirk Bouts.
The triptych`s two lateral wings were executed by another Spanish artist, Rodrigo de Osona.
The donor, a merchant in Aqui, Francesco della Chiesa, is kneeling in the central panel
