This year is the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Order of the Visitation founded by Saint Francis de Sales (1567-1622) and Jeanne de Chantal (1572-1641)
The fourth foundation of the Order was the Convent of Sainte-Marie d’en-Haut near Grenoble
The chapel was conceived in 1666 by the Jesuit Claude-François Ménestrier to celebrate the canonisation of St Francis de Sales. It is a beautiful but rare example of original Baroque.
