Benedict XV: The Prophet of Peace

Benedict XV was on the Chair of St Peter for approximately the same length of time as Benedict XVI. He was elected at age 59. It  would seem that the cardinal electors had probably wanted someone for the long haul

He was the Pope of the First World War whose centenary will be commemorated next year

He is sometimes called "The Forgotten Pope"

In his first General Audience in 2005, Pope Benedict XVI explaiined why he had chosen the name "Benedict":
"Firstly, I remember Pope Benedict XV, that courageous prophet of peace, who guided the Church through turbulent times of war. In his footsteps I place my ministry in the service of reconciliation and harmony between peoples."
British Pathé has two small videoclips from a film entitled Requiescat in Pace which was made in 1922 to commemorate the sudden death of Benedict XV that year

One shows Benedict praying in a garden. The other is of his body lying in state in St Peter`s
